Practical experience

Yajana specializes in General Litigation with a strong focus on Commercial and Corporate Law and Employment Law. Additionally, she has extensive experience in Banking Law and Corporate Legal Recoveries.

Some of the matters that she has been involved, and continues to be involved in, include the following:

• Appointed by South African Tourism to provide a legal opinion on misconduct on one of its employees.
• Attorneys for Pegasus (Pty) Ltd in handling an urgent application to set aside a sale of a property of R10, 500, 000 (ten million five hundred thousand rand).
• Assisting the Public Investments Corporation in litigation, involving the sale of shares in one of its subsidiary companies.
• Assisting the South African Nursing Council (SANC) in labour related matters, and in providing an opinion in terms of section 57 of the Nursing Act (2005).
• Representing the DHA in chairing a disciplinary hearing and providing legal advice.
• Previously represented various banks in matters, collections and legal recoveries.
• Advises clients on complex and high-level labour and employment law matters.
• Yajana is involved in and actively provides advice to her regular clients, which includes the Road Accident Fund (RAF), the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), Pegasus (Pty) Ltd, the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), the Border Management Authority (BMA), the Competition Commission (CC), and the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
