Donald specialises in Corporate Law and Employment Law.

The matters in which he has been, and continues to be involved in, include the following:

• Appointed by the CEF to advise on the merger of its subsidiaries to establish a single petroleum company in South Africa.
• Lead transaction advisor of Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority to raise R8, 000, 000, 000 (eight billion rand) comprising of revolving credit facilities and a term loan facility from various financial institutions for new capital expenditure, servicing of the existing debt portfolio, including the redemption of a maturing debt.
• Conducting a legal due diligence investigation for the Public Investment Corporation’s (PIC) proposed acquisition transaction of R 800, 000, 000 (eight hundred million rand).  He regularly advises the PIC on commercial law matters.
• Acts for the Competition Commission (CC) on various matters at the Competition Tribunal.
• Instructed by Denel SOC Ltd to review the Public Protector’s State of Capture Report and assist Denel SOC Ltd in preparing for the investigation and appearance at the Commission of Inquiry to Investigate Allegations of State Capture (Zondo Commission).
• Represented the Registrar of Medical Schemes in placing various medical schemes under curatorship in terms of section 56 of the Medical Schemes Act (1998).
• Advised and represented the TNPA at hearings convened by the Ports Regulator.
• Advises clients on complex and high-level labour and employment law matters.
• Donald’s regular clients include Armscor, the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC), the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), the Border Management Authority (BMA), the City of Cape Town and the City of Tshwane, and the Road Accident Fund (RAF).
