Practical experience

Vumile specializes in general litigation with particular interest in commercial & general litigation. He has extensive expertise and experience in various litigation in all High Courts of South Africa. 

Some of the matters that he has been involved in include the following: 

• Representing the City of Tshwane in litigation at the Supreme Court Appeal. The matter raises administrative and constitutional issues in that the City was ordered to relocate an illegal community, Kanana Village of over 500 households. The City instead expropriated the subject property for purposes of settling the community. 
• Assisted Central Energy Fund disciplining and eventual termination of employments of senior executives who were negligent and complicit in illegal disposal of strategic fuel. 
• Assisting Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa in construction dispute related to construction of a train station, where the contractor unlawfully terminated an agreement before completing the works and absconded the construction site. 
• Instructed by SABC SOC in respect of urgent interdict instituted to stop sale in execution of its property;
• Instructed by South African Heritage Resources Agency to conduct an investigation;
• Advised various clients on constitutional issues, with specific reference to section 217 of the Constitution.
