Basimane is an Associate in Administrative Law, Commercial Litigation, General Advisory, Urgent Motions and Forensic Investigations as well as Property Law Departments.

The following are among the matters in which he has been involved in:

• Advising clients on property law and management and related aspects, including advising on the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from, and Unlawful Occupation of Land Act (1998).
• Representing the PIC in an urgent application regarding a dispute on the sale of company shares.
• Part of a team that was appointed by Armaments Corporation of South Africa (Armscor) to assist in the recovery of proprietary assets that were appropriated by a former service provider.
• Part of a team instructed by SARS to investigate allegations of fraudulent activities in relation to claiming of Employee Tax Incentives.
