Practical experience

Basimane is an Associate in the Administrative Law, Commercial Litigation, General Advisory, Urgent Motions & Forensic Investigations as well as Property Law departments. Some of the matters that he has been involved in include the following:

• • Advising clients on property law and management and related aspects, including advising on the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Act (PIE Act).
  • Representing the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) in an urgent application regarding a dispute on the sale of company shares.
  • Part of a team that was appointed by Armaments Corporation of South Africa (Armscor) to assist in the recovery of proprietary assets that were appropriated by a former service provider.
  • Part of a team instructed by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) to investigate allegations of fraudulent activities in relation to claiming of Employee Tax Incentives.
