Practical experience

Madimpe specialises in administrative law, commercial litigation, general and advisory, ADR (excluding labour) urgent motions and forensic investigations. Some of the matters that he has been involved in include the following:

• Assisted a client in complying with the regulatory requirements as may be legislated through various acts of parliament.
• Assisted a client in reviewing legislation and related or associated regulations, including advising on the reviews to be implemented and draft amendments as be the case.
• Assisted clients with review of agreements and contracts in the construction and building environment.
• Assisted clients with alternative dispute resolution mechanisms including mediations, adjudications, and arbitrations, as well as with litigation as may emanate from disputes that arise out of construction and/or engineering agreements.
• Assisted clients with litigation representation, including defending clients against enforcement actions or prosecuting violators.
• Assisted clients with reviewing agreements and contracts entered between the parties, with zoning and land use, this includes representing clients in land use disputes.
• Assisted entities with determining compliance requirements that impact on the mining industry in relation to all relevant and associated legislation that may range from issues to do with royalties, securities, guarantees and similar concepts as may be required by legislation and regulations.
• Assisted clients, mainly the South African Revenue Service (SARS), with advisory memorandums on the interpretations of a variety of Tax legislation, and also in disputes that involve Tax Law.
• Provided clients with legal advice on laws that regulates companies, insolvency, and business rescue.
• Madimpe’s regular clients include SARS, the Information Regulator, City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality, the National Lotteries Commission (NLC), and Transnet SOC Limited.
