Practical experience

Mundia specialises in Administrative Law, Commercial Litigation and General Litigation matters. Some of the matters that he has been involved in include the following:

  • Advising public entities and other clients on the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, Public Finance Management Act, Municipal Systems Act, procurement policies and any other applicable legislation.
  • Assisting the Musina Makhado Special Economic Zone SOC in litigation proceedings surrounding a review of an environmental authorization.
  • Assisting the Musina Makhado Special Economic Zone SOC by representing the entity before a municipal tribunal linked to applications for the establishment of townships in the Makhado and Musina regions of Limpopo.
  • Acting on behalf of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality in the Supreme Court of Appeal and North Gauteng High Court in litigation surrounding the application of its municipal by-laws relating to energy and electricity.
  • Advising the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality by providing a legal opinion and memoranda concerning the institution of legal proceedings linked to irregular and unlawful acquisition of land, which caused financial detriment to the municipality in excess of R150 000 000.00 (One Hundred and Fifty Million Rand).
  • Reviewing and evaluating the National Lottery Commission’s existing regulations against the applicable regulatory framework.
  • Representing the South African Revenue Services (SARS) in a litigious dispute with a taxpayer on the basis of a dispute relating to the application of  VAT  Refunds  and  VAT  Assessments   raised  by
  • Regularly representing the Passenger Railway Agency of South Africa (PRASA) as an attorney of record in litigation linked to personal injury law.
  • Assisting Rand Water in arbitration proceedings premised on a dispute with a service provider on the basis of an invoice for services rendered by the service provider.
