Practical experience

Kgaogelo practices in the commercial and general litigation departments.  Some of the matters that she has been involved in include the following:

• Department of Home Affairs (DHA) in the disciplinary hearing of an employee charged for fraudulently facilitating the asylum seeker permit (Department of Home Affairs v Mthetho Macanda).
• Assisted the legal team to represent the South African Revenue Service (SARS) with a claim against a Trust and to advise on whether the withdrawal of funds to pay the premium insurance policy was for the purpose other than contemplated on section 37A of the Income Tax Act.
• Assisted in the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) in an urgent application. the urgent application was against the RTMC by the applicant who has an outstanding amount of R700 000 before he was in a position to register his licensing disc.
